20 Teams of college students compete to design, build and operate an energy efficient solar-powered house. Leave Harry S. Truman Park and Ride in Riva, MD promptly at 12 noon and bus to Washington, DC, lunch provided on bus, and return by 5 pm. Cost is $40 and sign-up is required. The Education of an Architect?
Join us as we consider:
? How is each school/program addressing Sustainable Design
? How are the programs defining sustainable design? For example, is a building really ?Sustainable? if it is not entirely off-grid?
? Are the programs addressing sustainable design on the scale of communities and regions?
? How are the schools addressing sustainable design as it specifically relates to the Chesapeake Bay region?
? How does each school address LEED, and what role should LEED play if other than setting a regulatory baseline, and third-party certification role?
? Currently, sustainable design is an area where students may have greater knowledge than firms that they will be joining. Is this affecting their professional decisions
Academic leaders from the following schools
are invited to discuss this topic and welcome your questions:

Members will receive TWO credits for this meeting.
